About the Artist:
Times are changing and Nancy has been painting many florals, more contemporary large canvases and multi-media with such items as wallpapers, stamps, stencils and texture, but still in unusual and contemporary colors.
Nancy has been painting for 35 years and teaching for 34. She started out with her style of painting is a "Refined Folk Art in Contemporary Colors." Her favorite subject to paint were veggies and fruit, but also loved Folk Art Scenes, and florals. She paints realistic acrylics, with oils, on fabric and with colored pencils. Nancy most often paints with DecoArt Traditions paints to achieve a blended, realistic look to her paintings.
Nancy is very active in the Society of Decorative Painters, having served a term as Board Member at large on the Board of Directors. She was elected Vice-President President Elect for the year 2008-2009, and became President at the SDP Conference in Peoria in June. Nancy was appointed President for the 2010-2011 year upon the resignation of president-elect Gretchen Cagle at the Wichita Conference. This was the first time a President served two terms as President consecutively. She is a member of six local chapters, serving on the board of three of them. Nancy is the proud recipient of the "Outstanding Chapter Service" award, presented at the Nashville Conference.
